Meet the cats

This project has never been about one cat.
It has always been about a family.

Some are blind. Some can see.
All are remembered.

Blind cats

Chico – Arrived in 2025 with Hugo & Wolfy, also blind

Crinkle – Arrived in 2025 – Born with sight, tragically lost it, found us & learned to live again. Taken from us too soon. RIP my friend ❤️

Harry – He arrived in 2023, with his friend Keira, also blind, & they proceeded to re-write the blind cat rule book 🤣

Hugo, aka Captain slow – Arrived in 2025 with Chico & Wolfy

Keira, aka Special K – Arrived in 2023 with Harry. She was living on the street in Nicosia, before being rescued.

Mabel – Arrived in 2024 with Scoots, but both so ill that they had to spend a month in quarantine in my bedroom. Quiet, but no pushover.

Momo – Arrived in 2023, just before Harry & Keira, she also worked on Harry’s book 🤣

Scoots – Arrived in 2024 with Mabel. After quarantine was over, he hit the garden, & never looked back 🤣

William – My very first blind cat. Arrived in early 2019 with his brother Harry, also blind. An amazing cat. He & his friend Big Fergus fight stray cats to keep his garden & his friends safe.

Wolfy – Arrived in 2025 with Chico & Hugo. Loves his freedom, friends & his garden.

Seeing cats

Smudge – The last of the originals. Approximately 14 now. Her & her brother dumped in a plant pot outside an office & rescued by my fiance. Both were difficult cats. Her brother ‘Crunchy’ lived on the mountain, coming back only for food. Abad tempered cat. Smudge was a victim of an animal attack by a person or persons unknown. She lost an eye, & several teeth. One of lucky cats. Many vanished.

Jasper, older brother to Fergus. A village kitten who went for a walk, got lost, found, fed & moved in. Shortly after, was hit by a car, suffered a broken leg, missing for 3 days. Was to missing again. I found him, just in time, he had cat flu & Parvo. A survivor.

Fergus, younger brother to Jasper, who also went for a walk as a young kitten, & as luck would have it, found me on Christmas Eve 2020. He climbed into my arms & up on my shoulders, his favoured position still. He’s one of my shadows, never far from me.

Ginger, one of four kittens born at the mosque over the road to me. One kitten vanished early on, which left Daisy, Ginger & Tiny Tim, & Mum cat of course. Daisy died from a virus in 2025, but Ginger, Tim & Mum cat are still here.

Tiny Tim, who isn’t so tiny anymore. As a kitten, he fitted in the palm of my hand, now he weighs a ton 🤣 Loves his food, gentle natured happy cat, not liked by Fergus for some reason 🤔

Mum cat – Arrived out of the blue. I found her at the mosque across the road from me, with a litter of four kittens. There was no one to take care of her, or the litter, so I started taking food across, then mum & dad would come to me, & in time, three kittens followed. One vanished, so Mum & dad + 3 were absorbed into my growing family.

Harvey, was one of four kittens born on my bed one Sunday morning. I was doing housework, & got the shock of my life when I walked into the bedroom & saw a very happy mum, with four babies, eyes still shut. To full video is called, One Sunday morning & you can see it on YouTube@Blindlife4668

Hair bear is a bit of a mystery. Looks identical to Yogi bear, also one of mine (who was meant to have been spayed years ago) She appeared out of nowhere in Feb 2023, & quickly settled in with most of my cats, except Keira, who took a dislike to her, that carried on for over a year. She’s still here, ever present in the garden & on mountain rambles.

Yogi bear, who looks identical to Hair bear, but Yogi bear was supposed to have been spayed many years ago 🤔

Pepper, who appeared from out of nowhere one afternoon, by the front gate in July 2025. Came in for a drink & never left 🤣
